Insider Trading: High picking CBJ, Oilers open for business

BUFFALO - There is no shortage of chatter on draft day for the NHL’s 30 teams.

The teams at the top — including the Columbus Blue Jackets and Edmonton Oilers — have made it clear they’re willing to wheel and deal as Round 1 approaches Friday night at the First Niagara Center.

Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen has been aggressive working the phones with the No. 3 selection, but to make a deal it’s believed he wants to peddle the contract of winger Scott Hartnell or defenceman Fedor Tyutin.

Edmonton GM Peter Chiarelli is at No. 4 and he has made it clear he’d like to get a top defenceman in return.
