The defending Clarkson Cup champs accomplished yet another impressive feat this past weekend.
Thanks to a pair of wins at home over the Boston Blades – 9-2 on Saturday night and 4-0 the next morning – the Calgary Inferno set a franchise record for points in a season with 38.
“It’s obviously really exciting,” said defenceman Meaghan Mikkelson, who had two goals and three assists on Saturday in a first-star performance. “I remember back to the first year that this team existed (2011-12). Our name was Alberta. We didn’t even have a team name. Our roster was split between Edmonton and Calgary.
