Bill Hay doesn’t need a tour of the Hockey Hall of Fame on his induction night.
He knows the layout quite well from his 15 years as chairman.
In fact, it was Hay who first relayed word to new members every June that they’d been inducted, a phone call he loved to make with the head of the selection committee. Hay heard his share of emotion, elation and sometimes stunned silence on the other end.
