Panic never seems to come anywhere near the Chicago Blackhawks, which is apparently why facing elimination is a mere rallying cry for one of the most playoff-tested teams in the NHL.
And, as if on cue, the Hawks heeded the call once again Wednesday night at the United Center with a clutch 5-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 6 of the Western Conference final.
With the team’s big guns firing, the Hawks forced a deciding Game 7 back in Anaheim on Saturday night, guaranteeing the Stanley Cup will be contested by two teams who had to go the distance to qualify for the first time since 2000.
