While the Calgary Flames are scrambling for their playoff lives, the Calgary Hitmen are virtually assured a playoff spot in the Western Hockey League. The club continued trekked towards the playoffs with a quiet week that saw them be shut out and shut their opposition out on back to back evenings.
The week that was
On Friday the Hitmen were shut out on home ice, losing 4-0 to the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings. The goalies were the story of the game. Vegas prospect Jiri Patera made 37 saves to shut the door on Calgary. Hitmen netminder Brayden Peters made 38 saves on 42 shots, but couldn’t grab the victory.
