In the past, the month of December has not been kind to the Stockton Heat. This season was quite different, as the Heat went 6-2-1-1 in their 10 games before the turn of the decade to remain in a solid second place in the standings behind the Tucson Roadrunners. In the jolliest of months, the Heat were a perfect 4-0 against the San Jose Barracuda, including a 4-0 shutout on New Year’s Eve; their first doughnut since January 2018.
This is the best start after 34 games in Stockton’s five-year history. Recording 49 points (22-7-2-3) easily outpaces the 40 points they put up in 2016-17 season (18-12-3-1).
