Kyle Dumba breathed a huge sigh of relief when Tristen Nielsen scored in the eighth round of a shootout on Saturday night.
After stopping seven of eight shots directed his way in the shootout by the Swift Current Broncos, Dumba raced to celebrate with his teammates when Nielsen backhanded a shot past goalie Jordan Papirny to lead the Calgary Hitmen to an exciting 3-2 win at the Saddledome.
“I was just relieved,” said Dumba, who also made 21 saves in the game, including two in overtime. “I’ve been hurting to get in the net a little bit and I just wanted to help the team as much as I can.
