SUNRISE, Fla. — The Edmonton Oilers made it harder on themselves than they would have liked, but held on to win.
Yet, they also lost.
Taylor Hall scored a pair of goals to lead the Oilers to a 4-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Monday, but centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins sustained a long term hand injury.
Nugent-Hopkins left the contest in the second period after blocking a shot and is out indefinitely.
It was the negative aspect of an otherwise solid road outing by the Oilers minus a 5:45 minute stretch to start the third period.
