QUEBEC CITY — Sen. Jacques Demers needs a moment to himself.
On this, the historic day in which NHL hockey will be played for the first time at the new Videotron Centre — the crown jewel of Quebec City’s unbridled hockey passion — Demers wants to rekindle some of the wonderful memories he experienced in this community.
And what better place to do it than just across the parking lot in the historic Colisee, the long-time home of the Quebec Nordiques?
So here is Demers, basking in the solitude of an otherwise empty building, sitting in the seats and recalling some of the great moments that had transpired under this aging roof.
