Four members of the Calgary Flames received votes for the 2022 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, awarded to the National Hockey League player “adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.”
Winnipeg Jets forward Kyle Connor won the award, with defencemen Jaccob Slavin (Carolina Hurricanes) and Jared Spurgeon (Minnesota Wild) being named finalists. The Lady Byng Trophy is voted on at the end of each regular season by members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
Flames leading scorer and 2017 Lady Byng winner Johnny Gaudreau finished ninth in voting for the award.
