A deadline to determine whether the league will allow its players to travel to Pyeongchang, South Korea next season is supposedly approaching in mid-January but not many teams have any idea which way this may go.
While the NHL’s owners have indicated they don’t see much to gain by participating, commissioner Gary Bettman is keeping all options open to see what route representatives of the Players’ Association, the International Ice Hockey Federation and the International Olympic Committee take.
