The hardest part is apparently behind him.
“Any time you’re not coaching ” started Dave Cameron, ousted in April as head coach of the Ottawa Senators but unemployed for less than three months before Wednesday’s hire as an assistant with the Calgary Flames.
“It’s like I’ve told everybody, it’s harder, or more work, looking for work than it is actually working.”
The next part could be a challenge, too.
Because the 57-year-old Cameron called the shots for a season-and-a-half in Canada’s capital city, but he’s not at the top of the pecking order anymore.
He’ll serve as one of several assistants on Glen Gulutzan’s staff at the Saddledome.
