Apparently, the month of November is not the time you want to be the head coach of the Calgary Mustangs.
Almost a year to the day after he was hired to coach the local AJHL team, Chad Allen was released from his duties by the club on Thursday.
“After a lengthy meeting of the hockey operations committee, a decision to relieve head coach Chad Allen of any further duties with the Junior A Mustangs was reached,” the club said in a statement released Thursday.
Currently, the Mustangs are mired in a serious funk. They have gone winless in 14-straight games — 0-12-2 — with their last win coming against the Drayton Valley Thunder on Oct.
