Free agent forward Steve Downie woke up from his social media slumber just days before Christmas, but he wasn't bearing any gifts.
The former Arizona Coyotes player, who was waived Jan. 17 and has not played in the NHL since, reeled off a series of tweets beginning late Thursday and into Friday in which he calls out his former head coach Dave Tippett, the NHL's Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell and hockey commentator Don Cherry.
After not tweeting in over a year, Downie began his rant by criticizing the Coyotes and Tippett for allowing forward Max Domi to break his hand during a fight.
