As youngsters, Dougie and Freddie Hamilton dreamed of eventually skating side-by-side on hockey’s biggest stage.
And after the Calgary Flames made a move Sunday to add Freddie to their organization, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton — Doug and Lynn — could be dreaming of eventually catching up on their PVR.
“They’ve already joked about that. They said maybe one day they won’t have to watch double the games, they can just watch one,” Freddie said. “I think that would be a little easier on them. They can maybe watch something other than hockey once in a while.”
The Flames landed Freddie in Sunday’s swap with the Colorado Avalanche, surrendering a conditional seventh-round selection in the 2016 NHL Draft in exchange for the 23-year-old forward.
