Francis: Flames top line bolstered by Bennett

For just the second time this season the Calgary Flames’ top line played like, well, a top line.

A novel concept indeed.

Thanks to a crazy bounce late in the evening it wasn’t quite enough.

However, the addition of Sam Bennett to the top trio’s left side has had a significant impact in the potency of the club.

Yes, the young lad tasked with filling the position vacated by the injured Johnny Gaudreau has acquitted himself well in the three games since he was mercifully moved from centre to the wing.

Friday night the 20-year-old was the best player on the ice in a 3-2 loss that saw the Chicago Blackhawks escape with a late victory despite being outplayed.
