Jack Riley, the coach who guided the United States to its first Olympic gold medal in hockey, has died. He was 95.
Murphy was the coach of the 1960 team that posted a stunning upset of the Soviet Union at Squaw Valley in California.
Riley coached at Army from 1950-86 and posted a 542-343-20 record over 36 seasons.
Riley also was a playing member of the 1948 Olympic squad.
His death was announced by The U.S. Military Academy. A cause of death hasn't yet been announced.
