Former NHL defenceman Ian White was arrested on Friday and is facing a number of weapons-related charges, Winnipeg police confirmed.
White, a Steinbach, Man., native who played 503 career games in the NHL, was arrested Friday afternoon, Winnipeg police spokesman Const. Eric Hofley said. Hofley would not disclose where White was arrested.
White was remanded into custody and charged with two counts each of careless use/storage of a firearm or prohibited device and possession of a firearm at an unauthorized place. White was also charged with breach of recognizance, unauthorized possession of a firearm and unauthorized importing of a firearm.
