It didn’t take long for Jonas Hiller to find a new job.
Just one week after the Calgary Flames made it clear he could look for puck-stopping employment elsewhere, Hiller inked a three-year contract with EHC Biel of the Swiss League.
It’s a homecoming for the 34-year-old goaltender, who has twice represented Switzerland at the Winter Olympics.
After nine campaigns in North America, including the past two seasons at the Saddledome, Hiller has likely logged his final appearance in an NHL crease.
He backstopped the Flames to a first-round playoff ouster of the Vancouver Canucks last spring but — like all of Calgary’s masked men — struggled this winter.
