Flyers' Scott Laughton injured, taken off ice on stretcher

PHILADELPHIA - Scott Laughton was taken off the ice at the Wells Fargo Center on a stretcher on Wednesday night.

The Philadelphia Flyers forward crashed into the end boards after he was hit by Washington Capitals defenceman John Carlson at 16:11 of the first period in Game 4.

The Flyers announced during the first-period intermission that Laughton was transported to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons.

Laughton laid still on the ice, face down, for several minutes before he was carefully taken off. He was conscious and appeared to be speaking to medical staff as he was being aided.
