PHILADELPHIA - There was no exhale for the Philadelphia Flyers Thursday.
The Flyers kept elimination from the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs at bay when they beat the Washington Capitals a night earlier, but they realize the challenge to win the Eastern Conference best-of-seven series remains difficult to overcome.
“No relief,” Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said at the Wells Fargo Center before the team attended a public memorial service for team chairman Ed Snider on the arena floor.
“That’s not even part of it. This isn’t a group that wants to stop any time soon. Right now you are on a one-day basis — win and continue to move on and that is probably a good scenario for us.
