As the saying goes, all good things come to an end.
You knew the Calgary Flames’ record-setting win streak wouldn’t last forever, and it’s now toast after Wednesday’s 5-2 loss to the Boston Bruins at the Saddledome.
The Flames were gunning for 11 in a row, but they were ultimately undone by a bit of bad luck — stalwart netminder Brian Elliott was unavailable due to illness — and then a bit more bad play.
Their passes weren’t crisp. Their intensity level didn’t seem especially high. Their stars didn’t accomplish much and filling in for Elliott, backup Chad Johnson didn’t have his finest night.
