Flames weren't Jonesing for David

The Calgary Flames have a road map of where they want to go and, at Monday’s National Hockey League trade deadline, Brad Treliving was forced to make decisions that followed that road map.

One of which was right-winger David Jones, an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, who was shuffled to the Minnesota Wild for a sixth-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft and veteran goaltender Niklas Backstrom.

“No. 1, David wasn’t a guy who was going to be in our plans moving forward,” said the Calgary Flames general manager when the dust had cleared on Monday.
