Flames stay hot, beat Wild in shootout [Video]

The Calgary Flames had a few things on Friday’s agenda against the Minnesota Wild.

Revenge was not on their list.

Many (read: storyline-starved media) thought that would be the case after a 1-0 win on Nov. 15 at Excel Energy Center which saw Johnny Gaudreau break his finger on a slash from Eric Staal. Hacking, whacking, and chippy play would definitely be a reoccurring theme at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Right?

Not so much.

Other than a bit of fan-booing directed at Staal, a few shoves after the whistle, and one particular rowdy second-period sequence between Marco Scandella and Garnet Hathaway, then Freddie Hamilton and Chris Stewart, retribution came the old fashioned way.
