As the Calgary Flames embark upon a four game road trip, they’ve gotten some backup. The club has announced that they’re called up defenceman Juuso Valimaki and forward Adam Ruzicka from the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat.
Because the team’s release doesn’t refer to either call-up as an emergency recall, for now our presumption is these are the team’s second and third “regular” recalls of the post-trade deadline period. (Connor Mackey was the first recall a few days ago.) The Flames would have one non-emergency recall remaining between now and the end of the regular season.
