A pair of Calgary Flames prospects have been invited to national team camps for the next two World Junior Championship tournaments. William Stromgren will vie for a spot on Sweden’s 2023 team, while Topi Ronni will be trying out for Finland’s 2022 team.
Stromgren, 19, was a second-round selection by the Flames in 2021 NHL Draft. He split last season between Rogle BK’s SHL and J20 Nationell teams. He’s going to be one of 46 players gathering in Enkoping, Sweden from July 24-49 to compete for roster spots in the 2023 tournament, which takes place over the winter holidays in Halifax and Moncton.
