Because as Calgary Flames right-winger Michael Frolik was trying to sum up the significance of representing the Czech Republic in international action, he mentioned a moment that fans across the Great White North would prefer to forget.
“As a kid, it was always a dream to represent the country,” said Frolik, one of a hat-trick of Flames forwards — Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan are the others — named Wednesday in the first wave of roster announcements for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
“When I was growing up, obviously Nagano was a big thing.
