Flames have jump on the rink, and basketball court

TAMPA — On Tuesday, they scratched out an overtime triumph against another wild-card wannabe in Nashville.

On Wednesday, their starting goalie Brian Elliott outlasted a few Harlem Globetrotters in a friendly game of bump.

So yeah, it’s been a successful start to this four-game sojourn for the Calgary Flames.

Glen Gulutzan’s group is in high spirits, and understandably so. They’ll try to continue their roll in Thursday’s clash with the oh-so-speedy Lightning at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

“I like where our energy is at with our group,” Gulutzan said after Thursday’s morning skate. “I mean, we’re at the end of February here and we have a lot of juice.
