Word travels fast.
After putting his signature on an entry-level contract with the Calgary Flames, puck-stopping prospect Nick Schneider couldn’t wait to contact his parents — Darren and Darla — to share the good news.
Except ...
“They knew about it before I did — my agent told them while I was on the ice,” Schneider said with a laugh. “They were just thrilled, though.”
The kid, too, is thrilled.
Rightfully so.
Although Schneider has since been reassigned to the WHL’s Medicine Hat Tigers, he still ranks as one of the feel-good stories for the Flames this fall.
