This might sound like an assessment of the guy who won the Ontario Hockey League’s playoff goal-scoring crown and then sniped the overtime-ending, tournament-winning tally in the championship game at the 2016 Memorial Cup.
It’s not.
It’s an assessment from the guy who terrorized opposing twine-minders this spring, providing a scouting report on his own puck-stopping pal — Tyler Parsons.
“He’s a very competitive goalie who was probably the biggest piece for our team this year to go as far as we did and to win what we did,” praised Matthew Tkachuk, Parsons’ teammate with the OHL powerhouse London Knights and fellow prospect in the Calgary Flames’ pipeline.
