Flames goaltender Ramo finished for season

Brad Treliving delivered the news.

And, as everyone suspected after the way Karri Ramo limped off the ice in San Jose last week, it was not good.

The Calgary Flames netminder suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus damage which will require surgery this week.

The recovery timeline is six to eight months.

Which means Ramo is done for the season.

“Obviously a significant loss for us,” said the Flames general manager speaking with the media Wednesday morning. “It’s frustrating as you can imagine. Like all players, you go through the initial shock … it’s a big loss for us.
