The charitable arm of the Calgary Flames, the Flames Foundation, has announced that it’s using some of its fundraising largess to help combat coronavirus. More specifically, they’re distributing $1.15 million worth of funds to local organizations.

Relief Funding
The United Way COVID-19 Community Response Fund in partnership with Alberta Health Services and the City of Calgary is a community relief fund that has been created within the United Way to address urgent needs for vulnerable persons and families. Calgary Flames Foundation funds will go directly to assisting families with technological requirements for youth to continue school at home and relief support for indigenous communities.
