Just 33 seconds into the second period, a Calgary Flames forward has hit a pretty tidy milestone. Forward Matthew Tkachuk finished off a give-and-go sequence with Johnny Gaudreau and beat Arizona Coyotes goaltender Karel Vejmelka to register his 30th goal of the season.
This is the second time in Tkachuk’s career that he’s scored 30 goals: he had 34 back in 2018-19. He’s the third Flames player to register 30 goals this season, following Andrew Mangiapane and Elias Lindholm.
Tkachuk also registered an assist on Lindholm’s power play goal, the Flames’ second of the period, to reach 78 points, surpassing his career high of 77 from 2018-19.
