Sam Bennett was just a kid when the Calgary Flames were last in the NHL playoffs.
And, by kid, the 20-year-old pivot was 18-years-old.
So, it hasn’t actually been that long since the fourth-overall pick from the 2014 draft burst on the scene after recovering from shoulder surgery, making his NHL debut in the last game of the 2014-15 regular season and playing 11 playoff games.
A lot has happened in Bennett’s career since then. The year, specifically, has been a struggle at times.
But NHL playoffs? He knows what they’re all about.
“I was just so excited to play in the regular-season game,” said Bennett, whose league debut came on April 11 in Winnipeg.
