Standing in a bright pink T-shirt as part of an anti-bullying campaign, Brandon Bollig explained how hard he tried to bash Josh Manson’s face in on Monday.
With the words, “Respect yourself. Respect others,” splashed across his chest, the 29-year-old Calgary Flames winger spelled out how he tried to teach the Ducks defenceman a thing or two about hockey’s modern day code.
You see, minutes into Monday’s Saddledome matinee, a rather feisty Manson sent young Johnny Gaudreau crashing into the boards in awkward fashion. As the Flames bench stood up in unison to protest the rough handling of their star player, Gaudreau slowly picked himself up off the ice and made his way to the pine, wincing in discomfort along the way.
