But local legend Mike Vernon insists Brian Elliott’s stretch of 11 straight wins in Calgary’s crease is even more impressive than the tear that he must have been on when he initially set that club record for the longest streak of successful assignments in 1989.
“Getting on a roll like that, that’s always a good thing,” Vernon said Monday, the day after Elliott equalled his franchise feat. “I think the thing that differentiates when I did it and when Brian Elliott has done it is I think the points are just harder to come by now, with the tight race.
