ANAHEIM — Asked (again) after Wednesday’s morning skate about the Calgary Flames’ feels-like-forever losing streak at Honda Center in Anaheim, their skipper insisted the math only matters to media-types.
“It’s a different situation for us, every game,” declared head coach Bob Hartley. “You guys keep counting.”
On this night, it’s a stunner that the scoreboard operator didn’t lose count.
The Flames not only equalled a dubious mark with their 23rd consecutive regular-season loss at Honda Center, but they did so in especially embarrassing fashion in an 8-3 drubbing from the Anaheim Ducks.
During this now-historic losing streak down the street from Disneyland, the Flames had never surrendered more than six goals.
