Earlier this week, Calgary Flames defenceman Raphael Diaz was asked to reflect on the most memorable moments of his run to the Stanley Cup final last spring as a spare part for the New York Rangers.
Several days later, his answer is especially relevant.
“Looking back, I remember we were down 3-1 going to Pittsburgh, but we turned the series,” Diaz said. “It was unbelievable what energy there was in the group after that. This is the playoffs — it’s never over. You have to win four games to get it done.
“It just shows it’s never done until it’s done.
