SAN JOSE — Now the fun begins.
The Calgary Flames capped their regular-season slate with Saturday’s 3-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center.
Next up is Game 1 of a Stanley Cup playoff series. They’re just not sure when or where yet.
The Flames will face either the Anaheim Ducks or the Edmonton Oilers in the opening round, a bit of a pick-your-poison scenario for the crew from Calgary.
Except that they don’t get to choose.
If the Ducks notch a victory — or even collect a loser point — in Sunday’s clash with the Los Angeles Kings, they’ll win the Pacific Division crown and face the Flames in the first series.
