Hunter Shinkaruk has been here before, albeit in a different city.
With the final cuts looming, the Calgary-raised left-winger — now in his first full campaign with the Flames organization — is one of the bubble-boy candidates for a spot on the opening-night roster.
Again.
"I think I was there (in Vancouver) the last day when I was 18," recalled Shinkaruk, now 21 and wearing the same grin he's been sporting since he was traded from the Canucks to the Flames in February.
"It seems like pretty much every year, I'm in this spot. For whatever reason, in Vancouver, it didn't work out.
