Picking #37 was fairly easy and we knew it would be former Flames goalie Trevor Kidd. What’s hard to remember about Kidd was he followed an absolute legend in Mike Vernon and no matter what he did it wasn’t going to be good enough. He was also saddled with Flames teams that were shedding their aging veterans from the Stanley Cup years and sort of rebuilding at the same time. Not exactly a recipe for success. But for his time with the Flames, Trevor Kidd was a fairly servicable goalie.
The Flames would draft the Manitoba native with the 11th overall pick in the 1990 Draft.
