Three Calgary Flames prospects were in action on Sunday at the 2019 World Junior Championship. The winless Slovakian team scored early and often en route to a rout over the equally winless Kazakhstan.
Slovakia 11, Kazakhstan 2
If you had read that Slovakia would give lowly Kazakhstan the biggest butt-kicking of their World Juniors to date, you probably wouldn’t believe it. But Slovakia scored twice in the first 32 seconds and led 6-0 by the end of the first period.
Kazakhstan scored twice, both times on the power play, but the Slovaks just rolled their lines, played their game, and seemingly did their best not to embarrass Kazakhstan.
