Bob Hartley’s expectation on the first day of the 2015 NHL Draft was that any player added to the fold would take a few years to be a Calgary Flames regular.
Instead, the newest addition won’t just be donning the Flaming C in a few months … he’ll be a key contributor.
Like everybody with the Flames organization, the Jack Adams Award-winning head coach was over the moon after the team acquired rising star defenceman Dougie Hamilton from the Boston Bruins for a trio of draft picks just before the draft started in Florida.
“This is a good day for the Calgary Flames,” Hartley said via phone from the draft floor.
