On the calendar, it’s Leap Day.
For several members of the Calgary Flames, it could be Moving Day.
As you’ve undoubtedly heard, Monday marks the NHL’s annual trade deadline, with a 1 p.m. MT cut-off for pretenders — the Saddledome-dwellers certainly fit that description — to peddle players and for contenders to add pieces for a playoff push.
The Flames have already said goodbye to Jiri Hudler, shipping the right-winger — their leading point-producer for the past two seasons — to the Florida Panthers in exchange for a pair of picks.
There will likely be more farewells by Monday afternoon.
