SHAWINIGAN, Que. — An elderly man has made the 130 km drive here on a snowy weekday from Repentigny for as large a mid-February QMJHL game as you can get between the Saint John Sea Dogs and hometown Cataractes, but he is less interested in the teams or the outcome than he is in one particular player.
Two hours before the opening faceoff, his trip to Centre Gervais Auto has already been well worth his while.
“Do you know who this is?” says the man, beaming as he holds a photo he took moments earlier of himself standing alongside a pimply-faced teenager.
