Dany Heatley has won a long-standing battle fought off the ice.
The ex-NHL star has been awarded $6.5 million after winning a lawsuit against his former agent, CTV Calgary reported on Wednesday.
In 2012, Stacey McAlpine and his parents, Gerald and Eugine, were sued by Heatley, who claimed he had been promised a hefty profit from an investment in condo developments.
Heatley, a two-time 50-goal scorer and the 2002 Calder Trophy winner, will receive approximately $4.2 million from Presidential Suits and around $2.3 million from Waterfront Development.
Heatley's final appearance in the NHL came the season prior with the Anaheim Ducks.
