Buffalo Sabres star left winger Evander Kane made heartfelt apologies to his teammates, management and ownership Tuesday, a day after missing practice.
Kane was suspended by the Sabres for one game — he won’t play Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators — for the lapse in judgement.
“It was irresponsible and I take full accountability for my actions, with what happened,” said Kane.
Kane didn’t answer in detail questions about what happened — he slept in Toronto following Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game and didn’t wake in time to make it back to an afternoon practice in Buffalo — but vowed to make changes in his attitude and use of social media.
