As the Calgary Flames contemplate their goaltending vacancies, rumours abound about the one that got away.
The big one — you know, six-foot-seven Ben Bishop.
In the eyes of most Flames fans, he was the natural target for a team that now has the building blocks to make every bit as much noise as the Edmonton Oilers just did.
However, without a solid, Cam Talbot-type 'tender in net, the Flames' dreams of playoff glory — or even resurrecting the Battle of Alberta — are as remote as an Anaheim Ducks' bad break.
So, with the Flames needing to sign two NHL-calibre netminders this summer, how accurate was it to assume general manager Brad Treliving had high hopes on dancing with the belle of the ball this summer — Bishop — once again?
