On the eve of his ceremonial return to the Calgary Flames, Robyn Regehr made the type of admission sure to have tongue's wagging Monday.
"Believe it or not, the beer league team I play for is called the Oilers," chuckled the 35-year-old defenceman.
"I could have sworn I'd never play for a team called the Oilers while I played in the NHL but here I am."
Putting the wraps on his 15-year career in Los Angeles last spring, Regehr moved back to Calgary with his wife and two sons where he's a full-time dad and partner in an oilfield equipment rental company.
