In another sign that the 2020-21 training camp is getting closer, two Calgary Flames prospects playing in Europe ended their loans on Thursday.
Goaltender Artyom Zagidulin has departed from the KHL’s Metallurg Magnitigorsk, while forward Eetu Tuulola is leaving SM-Liiga’s SaiPa. Tuulola was previously with Vasterviks IK in Sweden prior to moving to the Finnish club.
Zagidulin, 25, returned to his hometown team for a couple months. When he arrived Metallurg was missing a pair of their regular goaltenders and Zagidulin got some time to knock the rust off, but eventually everyone got healthy and he was stuck behind Juho Olkinuora and Vasili Koshechkin and only occasionally dressed as back-up.
